I have been through that several times in my life and after my 1st marriage of 20 years ended I let him sit down with the albums and take what he wanted. I will say looking back I am glad I have kept the rest of them and got rid of nothing else. I have a lot of photos of us and they are good reminders to me now of the good times we had. They bring me comfort, not pain and our kids can have them one day.

Do you even look at those albums often? If no, just put them away. Out of sight. As long as you get rid of visuals that are in your place and space constantly, that should be sufficient in my opinion.

Some ppl don't care - I am very visual. When I split w/my ex I didn't leave around not one single items that triggered any thuoghts of him. That may not solve our issues entirely but I take anything that helps.

I agree with MillieJay, put them away for now. I have no visuals of my stbx in sight. Down the road you can decide what to do with them. I do try to keep things in mind regarding how the children have felt about it all over the years and consider their feelings first. I can get the heck over it.

I have the albums on the bookshelf. Maybe I should just put them in the closet. I with everyone, out of sight out of mind.

Agree with most - out of sight, out of mind. I took the obvious pictures down that were up on display around the house so i wouldn't have to look every day. Like someone said, I agree that the kids might want to have the pics one day, so i'm trying to do the right thing for them and save them. They are young too, so I've even gone as far as putting a picture of their mother in their bedrooms for them to see. Seems like the right thing to do.

I put mine away. We didnt have kids so that is not an issue. Still, we were married and it was a significant event for me at least. So I just put them away. I'm not sure there is a right or wrong answer.

This is a good topic. I have mine in my closet. I do not have any pictures of him on my phone or on my Facebook. I have wondered what I should do with our wedding pictures, though. For not they are put away and hidden. I keep them in case our daughter ever wants to see them or in case we ever get back together - which is highly UNLIKELY. I still have this huge frame in my closet of us on our wedding day. It is wrapped in newspaper so I don't see it, but I know it's there. I'm not really sure what to do with it. Same thing with my wedding dress. I feel bad throwing it away, but I might have to donate it.

I have no idea what she did to our wedding pics and albums. I had a 4X6 pic of our wedding pic, that I used to put on my office desk. I don't even know what happened to it.

I deleted them from my phone, too. The digital ones on my computer I put in a special folder. The physical ones I put in a box for our daughter to have someday. I'll burn a CD of the digital ones eventually and throw that in there as well, then delete them. A couple years after now I don't have much emotion tied to them but want them for the kid.

I'd either ask if she wants the pics or have the kids go through and take what they want.
