OT - Your Handle/Screen Name

Why did you choose your screen name? Some are obvious, but others more subtle.

Mine is from the lyrics of Led Zeppelin's "Out on the Tiles". It's one of my favorite Zeppelin songs, and in reality I am just a simple guy. I don't like drama, I don't like to make things overly complex. There's a serene beauty in simplicity.

I work in defense satellite communications and we call it SATCOM.

Years back I used to play VtM, a tabletop RPG (think D&D) and my character's name was Ravener. Once I got online I started using that, then shortened it down to RVNR when I left the the VtM thing behind. I only continue to use it because I know it's always open, I don't have to think of something else to use.

@ namaste - Your SN actually inspired this thread! I googled it and actually used the greeting (plams clasped together and fingers pointing upward) on several of my Indian coworkers. They got a kick out of it!

@ JoyRide - I love cruising to nowhere too! Give me an open country road and a good CD and it's like me, my vehicle, the road and the music are one and that's all there is.

@playerapr - I grew up in Far Rockaway, which, while technically part of NYC, is also on the South Shore of Long Island. I lived on the beach in my younger days and that, the Mets and the vast variety of food is really all I miss now that I'm in Upstate New York. I still haven't found a good knish here...

@ catfisher - I love fishing too. Bass and trout. Back in the day I also used to do a lot of salt water fishing: Fluke, flounder, bluefish, blackfish. Also used to handfish for trout. Now that's a challenge!

@ oOoREBoOo - Heheh, that reminds me of a MMORPG I use to play: Ultima Online. When your character was killed, you would run around in ghost form, and when you 'talked' other players could only see it as "ooOoOOoooOoOOo".
