Tomorrow (21st) at 0704 Winter Solstice begins in the Northern Hemisphere. It will be the shortest day and longest night of the year. Many celebrate the occasion but some may feel the effects of the mental disorder Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) including moodiness and depression. The only known cure is artifical light..so TURN up the wattage, the music, open a bottle of your fav spirits and hope everyone has a great Solstice...:) It truly is darkest before the dawn.

I am totally feeling the dawn right now, as I am just coming out of over a year of darkness! This also reminds me of how you can try to bring some light into your darkness, like in that old painting someone did of Abe Lincoln reading by the firelight before there were elctric lights.

I just changed my avatar today, too, after almost a year of the old green one (didn't know how to change avatars, lol) - this new one today seems so sunny & yellow & bright! I m learning (finally) that there's lots & lots of things you can do to bring light into your life. Nice post, meddle!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
