So.. I am off to Costa Rica in a week... I haven't been on a vacation in YEARS (that wasn't centered around my children and husband- now ex husband)... there will be six adult women and lots of wine on the trip... otherewise, everything is negotiable... I need some ideas... what would you do? (we are going to be on the beach).... would you go to relax and read by the pool or would you go surfing, zip-lining and rope walking through the rain forest? Hmmmm...... after such an emotionally draining year... it seems so refreshing that this is my "challenge" to figure out! LOL

I would look for bars and live music. Then, I'd ask to play the drums with these new found friends. I'd also sit on the beach with a box of tacos and a glass of apple juice...

Sounds so wonderful. The last trip I took out of the country was to Mexico - connected wit the chef at my hotel (we both love cooking, I can speak enough Spanish to get by and he wanted to know about American's food preferences).

Well, let's just say he learned more than about food (lol). One of the best vacations I've had!

Honestly, I would suggest a day or two of recovery when you get home. I have always found that returning directly back to work after a vacation trip actually spoils the vacation.

Take at least one day to just sleep the whole day, recover and acclimate back to your home center.

Awesome! Have fun and challenge yourself. Walk in the rain preferably with a beautiful man, play together and let what happens in Costa Rica stay there.. LOL. I am a tad green! Big hugs, Kimmee

Day one hang out by the pool and see what's up. Day 2 through 5 go crazy and try everything you can. Day 6 and 7, back to the pool to relax a bit and regroup.

I suggest taking a journal with you so you can record your thoughts & feelings. It will be an amazing souvenier and a great release for your emotions.

Enjoy your freedom while it lasts! Do whatever you feel like doing. If you want a chill day, hang out at the pool or beach. If you want something adventurous, see if your friends will go snorkeling with you. I am jealous, I can only imagine having that much time to myself, especially with good friends! Just have fun! And be careful, don't forget the sunscreen, among other things lol!
