Dude, only chuck the chili dogs if you also cover it with cheese sauce. You need something sticky to use as an adhesive, and warm manufactured cheese product apparently will do the trick.

Hmm, chili dogs! Crap, now I want one :(

slightly toasted and warm hot dog bun with an all beef hot dog, smothered in chili w/ bean and covered with freshly grated cheddar cheese and a sprinkle of mince white onions.

BTW, Rman, thanks to you, I ate soft tacos supremes for dinner last night! And they were delicious!
