i think that it's pretty stupid. i also think that journaling here on DS is like posting journal entries in one's local laundromat. a pretty crazy idea in the first place.

a person googling certain terms can run across a ds member's journal. i sure don't understand why this site has been set up that way.

Well, there is this one time in college, well let's just say needs to stay buried.... it is a good thing the cops did not look in the foot locker... enough said.

I do like to see when friends post something on the board. I want to show support and sometimes threads get buried

All the suggestion here have already been added to the "wish list" of the admins. Even the latest one that Dutch mentioned as I thought for a long time, it would be great to limit speecific journals to certain friends or members. I have dealt with my journals, posts, hugs and even status' being misunderstood by a member or two and have received a message telling me a thing or two about a thing or two; just like Dale. So I would have really liked the ability to be able to write to my journal about my feelings, if even about this member without having to deal with the misunderstandings or remove her from my friends list.

I have to say, there are times that I needed my journals public, I wanted some feedback (not that I get much of that), but it's important as we tighten down the privacy settings to still allow a public option. We don't want to get to a point that new people have no access to the support that many of us needed when we first arrived.

I set my journals to friends only. I think if what I am writing sticks with someone and they could comment or give support or maybe have the same mindset/thought then I think that it is ok to have them open. If I want something totally private I will mark as such. For the most part I don't journal things I don't want any one to know anyway.

I actually like the Latest Activity, sometimes I see a journal or photo entry I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
