A nickname is a nickname. - if your partner doesn't mind Chili Dog, then it would be fine..
For the last month before Ex left I called him dick-ass and still call him that loving nickname if I have to refer to him or talk to him.

I call my pup nut job, too, Dutchy! But also Whackadoodle, Doofus, Zippy, etc. I'm surprised she still knows her real name. She won't answer to Doug. I tried to change her name to that once. Didn't take.
