2. Pissing contests are about nothing other than egos getting in the way. If we are truly ego-less, we are non judgmental and will to be open in our thoughts and those of others. Reminds me of the 4 Agreements once again....to be impeccable with our word, (say what you mean, mean what you say) not to take thing personally, not to make assumptions, and to always do our best. Some can agree to disagree, some will fight tooth and nail to be "right", so will just plain old be hateful to others because they are miserable within themselves and need a punching bag. Unfortunately, this is how our planet operates.
3. We're not all perfect, we dont all have the right answers, and Im finding that some just dont even want to hear about some being happy or making it through to the other side. Pain is pain, plain and simple. Then we have another extreme there too.
Human nature comes into play here. I often just wish we could all put principles above personalities.
#1 I've been noticing this too, and I am glad so many are finally open themselves up to the idea.
#2 yup
#3 yea, I find it humbling, yet so grateful in trying to learn from those who pave the way ahead of me in personal growth.
2) that pissing/jousting contest issue I look at a bit differently. We're all in various stages of healing, and some of those bumps and scrapes are sore for a long time, and we become protective over those vulnerable spots long after the person's gone who injured us there. I think most of us get to, and need to get to a place where we become very determined and opinionated about what we want, what we need, what we think, and what sounds right, or not right to us. So I consider this inbetween relationships time to be when we're most opinionated, most easily agitated and most protective/defensive.
3 - ya, umm...that world view thing is still tripping me up. I find I'm disappointed in people with power, and recognize behaviours and philosophies that resemble my exS's (is it any wonder, given how he has political aspirations?). My lack of trust, immense disappointment, and cynicism where politics is concerned is as high these days as they used to be in my exS years ago. Guess that's one of the areas that's slow to shift?
