I just found out my stbx has my two daughters involved in insurance fraud!
Oh and **whiny voice**, I'm tired, I don't want to get up. I don't want to go to school, or clean up my room!!
OK, fit over, I have to get my homework done and get ready for class.
I do the same thing all the time... i wonder if i'm providing enough nurturing and love... am i being too strict with her or am i being too easygoing... i'm always worried that i'm going to do somethign wrong and she won't grow up the way she should and that it will be my fault. Having said that, the rational side of me says differently. I know that I love my daughter and, while i will make mistakes, she will grow up to be the person she is going to be, and all i can do is be there to help her grow.
i don't know, i hate to make a generalization based on gender, but this is what i've noticed... and it does seem to be a societal gender issue. Society tells us that men are not as good parents as women are, that we're not nurturers and that a child needs their mother to grow right... I don't agree with it, personally, but its what we've been raised to believe. I think that, possibly, because of this upbringing, men in particular, but single women as well, feel inadequate, and fear that we're not going to do things right...
again, its not right, conceptually i know that men are just as capable of raising a child by themselves as women are, but we've been taught for so long that women are nurturers and men are not, that theres those times that we fear that we may get it wrong...
i think that makes sence... does it come across clearly to you?
None of us are perfect. And if you really think about it, Perfect Parents are the hardest to live up to. So I'm betting you're doing great.
Then again, I don't really know you. And being a baby, I'm betting you tend to throw your cereal everywhere. Thus that makes you a Cereal Killer, and that's not being a good parent....LOL.
Rman: Your candor, love and sacrifice is a prelude to the love you have for your girls. They will take you as a good role model and choose someone who is devoted and that will do anything for them as their father did.
Anyone else need a piece of me?
