Wow, here's a Blast from the Past!

This is Langley Speedway in Hampton VA. When I was in the AF and stationed at Langley AFB, I lived in the third trailer in the middle row of trailers radiating out from Turn 4.

Hahah! Me and a few buddies would toss a big sheet of plywood on top of the trailer along with some lawn chairs and a cooler full of beers and watch the races for free. We could see everything except the home stretch and beginning of turn 1.

There is a '67 Dodge Charger parked in my driveway..... and it's loud as Sh*t.... LOL

Its not mine, it belongs to my dad, but I LOVE driving that thing....even though I'm a Jeep girl....

I've had a few of those, a number of them regarding my exS, so I'm not even sure I want to ascribe anything magical to them.

But I get now, you're talking about day dreams? wishes for the future?

Oh no, I'm not talking about day dreams. I had a dream last night I was back in 1980 racing my '67 Nova SS at South Hampton Speedway.

I had a dream to, Strange because I usually don't remember mine anymore.. It woke me up out of my sleep...

Had to do with some things going on in my life currently.. I even thought about writing it as a journal entry.....

I helped a friend rebuild a GTO. Hooker Headers, Hurst Shifter, Holly 4 barrel, mag wheels etc. I went in another direction with a 1967 Triumph GT-6 English sportscar. Ran 1 week out of every month. Replaced the rear three times - too much torque for the ring and pinion which were designed for a 4 cylinder. People would pull up next to me and tell me my back wheel was wobbling. Learned a lot.

I hate it when my back wheel wobbles!

I had a friend that tossed a 350 into a Vega along with a Turbo 400 trans, but kept the Vega rear end. Hahahah, he kept blowing through rear ends every time he was too violent with the peddle.

He needed to throw a 10 or 12 bolt shortened read end on the darned thing. Heheheh.

You know, at some point in the future, I'd like to get an old car. Something from the mid or late 60s. Something really simple but with a whopping big motor!!! Brute force. :-)

Fix it to the point I can run it stock at the local drag strip. It's really fun stuff. Well, until you break something expensive. Doh!!! ;-)

I'm assuming it's a standard? I'm wicked with a 4-speed, though in truth an automatic is generally better for lower level drag racing.

By the way, I am joking. About borrowing it, that is. Not about my prowess behind the wheel. ;-)
