How much would you say is the average that a family of 4 spends on groceries?

Approximately $150 weekly, but we're on opposite shifts so we don't do dinner every night. If we ate dinner eat night together ... closer to $175-$200 easily. (that includes shampoo, detergents, cleaners, pet food, etc.)

I've done it for as little as $100 a month. But that's far below average.

When money wasn't tight for the family, I spent maybe $250. Again way below average.

I wouldn't know how to spend that much a week.

when it was just me my mom and my daughter it was around100 and i had money cause i had child support well now my child is 18 and the money is gone so now it will come down a whole hell of alot im thinking about 45. a week

married , use to spend about 160 on payday weeks and 90 on the off weeks. now its about 80 both weeks, but last week i spent 160, most of it was cleaning stuff. i try my best not to eat out at all, but sometimes you just have to go for taco's!

When I was shopping for a family of four I would spend between $100-175 per week

Now that it is just my son and I, I am spending less than $250 a month..

BUT I rarely eat and when I do it is fresh veggies out of the garden.

I would say between 100-200...depends if you are buying cleaning supplies, toiletries etc

I've been spending about $100/week using coupons and shopping the weekly specials. That's mainly for me and my son, but also for my stbx. She eats dinner at my place almost every night and occasionally takes leftovers for lunch the next day.

Oh, and once every couple of months, I'll spend a couple of hundred dollars at Costco, and another hundred or so at an ethnic supermarket.

i think 200 a week is more than reasonable for 4 ppl

now my shopping consist of

2 cans of mini raviola
box of cereal
2 cans of ready to eat campbells tomato soup
4 24 can cases of diet coke

i miss grocery shopping i was such a good cook..thats the one thing when i meet someone that i'm looking forward too

cooking and sex - ahhhhhhhhhh the life
