Raymond - how did that work it? They wanted me to skip from third to fifth grade but my mother and father refused. In retrospect, not a bad thing; I just was always more mature than the other kids.

I was a distance swimmer in High school, I swam at least 10 miles a day, went to school at 5:30am and swam, swam at lunch time, and then practice after school everday....I was part of a 20 man relay team that broke a world record for a hundred mile swim (100 yard increments) that held on from 1979 until 1982 when we broke it again in college that record lasted until another 10 years later when a Australian team broke the record.

The college dropped the swim team program and that ended my swimming career... beer and partying then took over my life.

I went to Santa Clara High when Mark Spitz was there and the Santa Clara Swim Club was breaking records. Me, I got out of swimming every chance I got. They used to make us swim even in the rain with lightning coming down. Crazy!
