I have actually lived on both coasts. Good and bad with both. I don't like the humidity on the east coast. But I like the food.

I like the beach where I am. I can go practically all year long and the white sand is to die for! But I miss Ca. soooo much so I hear you!

Lived in Monterey for a year. Every morning at 0400 they would be humping each other and making a racket! The otters were funny. Really kinda cold though all the time.

Then there was that month I stayed in Boston after a Shakespeare Intensive workshop. Expensive. Kinda small and the Atlantic Ocean is filty. Still, that slice of Revolutionary Times, quait.

New York City. Eh.

Los Angelos. Eh.

Charleston. Very Quaint, Pleasant.

San Fransico. Too Foo-Foo for me.

Seattle. Kinda Dreary but Mt. Rainier was majestic.

The best places I have ever been so far was Waikiki Beach in Hawaii and VilleFranche France, a small fishing two halfway between Monaco and Nice. Lovely.

The best place CONUS is Chicago. They have a shore too that is completely open to the public, with running and bike trails, beaches and all the activities. They have all the shops you could find in London or Tokyo or Singapore. Great night life, great music scene, great theatre, the birthplace of Improv, the sports teams suck but still are iconic, all four seasons, you can visit the most bustling Downtown as any other city and then take a 3 hour drive to complete isolated rural fresh air.

I would go on but then it will look like a JoyDrop post. (Ducking JoyDrop's thrown shoe ;))

The coasts are ok. Chicago is the best.
