I just picked up the phone and had the following conversation with wife...
Me: Hello
Her: Tell your daughter to behave...I'm sick of this behavior.
Me: Put her on the phone.
Her: She won't get on the phone.
Me: OK
Her: Why do your parents have to have this party at their house on Sunday? I want to take the kids to my Dad's.
Me: Sunday is my Birthday and Father's Day.
Her: I think that's selfish.
Me: Then Take the kids to your Fathers house and I'll go to my parents house alone.
Her: No...
Me: Then take one of them and I'll take the other.
Her: Click....*dial tone*
Me: Must think of taco thread...
Me: Hello

Some people can only see the world as a speck in their rear view mirror.
Don't let her attitude ruin the party. Get the kids, have fun, make sure they call grandpa and say "Happy fathers day gramps!" again (since they are having a party on Saturday) and call it a day.
@Jaken: I had the exact opposite problem. My ex-IL's (whom I still really like) would drink you, me, and anyone else under the table. They are slowing down a bit now, but 5 years ago? Wow. They liked to party. I'd leave there on some weekends in worse shape than when I got there.

You were thinking that many many years later you would screw up your wife's day - a day that isn't mother's day or her birthday. You have lots of nerve - how could you ever have done that to her....
