HOLY SHIT!!!! Big snake. lol

My ex's fraternity brothers left me alone with Ester their 15 foot long python in front of the house, and told me to bring her back if she got near the road.

Then they said that I shouldn't have dragged her. Do the math. I'm 5 feet. Snake 15 feet. What was I supposed to do? Fold her up?

Anyway, I Love snakes!! They eat rats and mice and all of the things that I don't like.

(It was interesting to see people's reactions walking past when they saw her.....)

I live in Florida and the scary thing is that we now have large pythons in the Everglades. They are not native here but over the years irresponsible pet owners released their pet snakes into the wild when they became to large. Since the climate in FL is similar to the climate in their native lands the pythons are thriving and making little pythons. It is estimated that there are between 150- 200 thousand now in the Everglades. They are creating havoc by eating our native species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. Along with gators they are the top predator.

I'll send you a pic of my husband. IF a large, venomous snake should happen to bite him, someone might be willing to ummmmm, compensate this snake for his trouble...

The somebitch wouldn't have made one frame on my camera. It would have had 5 rounds of buckshot in its head and then been cut up into snake steaks and sent to Africa to cure world hunger.

Wanna hear something freaking scary? I used to work with a vet tech who worked at a practice in Florida...anyhow, one of their clients had a huge boa. I'm talking HUGE. She loved this snake....even let it sleep in bed with her....this snake would stretch out against the length of her body. She started to worry when her snake wouldn't eat the rats and mice she had for it. Finally after several weeks, she asked the vet what was going on...was her snake sick? The vet said...no, its sizing you up for dinner. And he wasn't joking. That story still freaks me out to this day. And let me tell ya...as much as I love animals, if I went out into my back yard and saw that thing there, I'd run away screaming like a little girl on fire.

I like snakes too. But I don't get why people have to have exotic animals as pets. (And I'll bet someone got tired of Bongo there and let him go or he escaped himself. Probably hungry, too, since he wasn't all THAT lethargic.) Sheesh. Oh ... Rman, there's a bigger rattlesnake somewhere on youtube. I'll see if I can find for you.

My houeskeeper found out about snakes the hard way - she was picking up a big heap of leaves in the backyard and there was a black snake in the middle of it. She still talks about it and won't toch leaves.

Fpr me - no biggy. I took care of my son's snake (Strike) - fetal pigs and all.

My father, mother, and youngest sister hates snakes. My father would get out his Ruger and shoot garter snakes, chop them up with a shovel, or run over them with the lawn mower. Overkill, don't you think? Then he'd make me water the pachysandra with huge spiders in their webs nesting in there. I would be cringing. What the f is wrong with this picture? He wasn't bothered by spiders, but I can't even touch one on a piece of paper or book cover.

Tegian - I must be the weird one because I don't mind spiders either (except the brown recluse and black widow.

I'm fairly binary about these situations......

Wildlife that stays away from my home = fine

Wildlife that comes near my home = dead

I don't care how cute the wildlife is, either (squirrel population in my backyard, I'm looking at you).

You stay in your spot. I'll stay in mine.

And speaking of brown recluse spiders, if you really want nightmares, google "recluse spider bite" and look at the images. I apologize, in advance.

I used to pick up gartner (how the hell do you spell that?) snakes and throw them at the boys... But this beast here i would not go anywhere near... and that strike at the end gave me a frickin heart attack. Thanks, Bmore!
