I had a couple of setback this week... none that i can't handle but I can't believe how much just hearing her name can hurt.

Today, I heard "how good my ex is doing" with my former friend. Holy cow it stings like hell. I think having the Holidays here it hurts even worse.

I will get through it... I will be ok.... I just don't know why people feel the need to even bring her name up!

Just venting I guess... I am praying for all of us!

Sorry Jim. Hearing how "good" she is doing I'm sure is incredibly painful. Try not to dwell on it too much. You're a much better person than she is.

i am sorry to hear about this. and i imagine it does sting.
we will all get thru it - that is true. its not fun being on the rollercoaster to that point though.

i am ready for some time off so i can decompress. its been a challenge for me since mid-august and things just seem to be getting more overwhelming. what else can we do but keep putting one foot in front of the other?

I can relate to that Jim. It's not unusual and it will get better with time. I remember a couple months back my xgf sent cookies to work with one of our mutual friends. The friend sent an email out to all of us saying my xgf sent them for us all to enjoy. I felt horrible, but I know now it wouldn't make the least bit of difference and I would be right there to chow down on them and with gusto!

Sorry to hear that Jim. We try to put up our filters, avoid certain social pathways that might lead to info about the ex, but sometimes little tidbits or entire stories get through. Just try to brush it off your shoulder and keep trying to live your life to the best you can. Because it works both ways--one day she'll hear about how great you're doing.

Sorry to hear that, buddy. I'm not sure why people have the need to let people know how "good" the ex is doing. For me, I don't associate with couples friends we had, or really, anyone involved with my EX besides the very minimal contact with his Mom whenever I visit NY with my son and give her the heads up we are there. Them NOT knowing what I'm up to, or how my life is going, makes me feel great. I like moving on with my life and my EX having absolutely no idea what I'm up to.
I would nod my head, and then if people kept bringing her up, I would question them on why i should care?
