Of course there could be innocent reasons for a married man having a woman's number in his cell phone. The thing is, do you -- as the woman who has been married to this man for X number of years -- think this is unusual behavior for him? Does it raise your hackles?

If so, talk to him about it. Don't accuse, just talk. The minute you make him defensive, you won't be able to have a productive discussion.

The cell phone issue with the other info you provided is a red flag. Has he been open in communicating that he dropped this woman off?

I've always heard that if you can talk to the person on your phone in front of you partner then there's nothing wrong with it. If you feel strange about speaking to the person in front of you partner or your partner feels strange talking to her in front of you-its a red flag.

My husband had lots of women's numbers in his phone; baby is right - it was when he started taking the calls ONLY outside (where he claimed he got better reception) that I should have become concerned...

I have several guys in my cell phone. Some single and some married. I'm friends with their wives and when we're meeting them the men usually carry their cell phones and their wives don't. I only call them when I'm meeting them as a couple. Look at the activity on the cell phone.

If is smells like shit, loks like shit....then it probably is shit....I would not mind giving her a call and kicking his ass for good, but that is just me.

Look at the call times; is he calling her at times when you aren't around? That's a big red flag (and how I caught my stbx).

I'd do a little more digging before I confront him; he could become very secretive and start deleting calls and numbers.

I'm not a bar person so maybe I'm not the best to give advice, but I don't understand why your husband is out at the bars often enough that he knows this woman and is giving her rides home. And are you at home while he is out? Does he only know her from drinking at this bar? If so, I don't think I'd be comfortable with him meeting a woman at a bar and becoming drinking buddies with her, and then driving her home. Doesn't she have anyone else to drive her home or is she also hanging out at the bar alone?

I do think men and women can be friends. I have guy friends that I talk to and see just the two of us. But just being drinking buddies would raise a serious red flag to me.

Could you ask him why he has her number in there, in order to determine the innocence of it?

given the other circumstances... if you feel in your GUT that you have a reason for concern, then you probably do. You've known this person for many years - is this something out of character for him? (including the staying out late)

like someone else (I think it was Frank) said - ask him. Try not to accuse or get upset. If you come at him like that, it's bound to end poorly - regardless of the answer. Try to keep an open mind and send "I" messages so he doesn't feel attacked - such as "I'm concerned that you've been coming home late, etc..." Good luck... :-)

Well, I guess I could add the information that late is midnight, or 430AM. THe woman is one he met in the bar. He was supposed to be home last night bt 1030, came home at 400AM and said she needed a ride home from the halloween party at the nude bar..... theres an ATM receipt for 40$ on Thursday, the night he came home after midnight, strangely enough, lapdances are 40 at that same strip club. CAn I fing kill th bdard now?
