I wanted to be married to him my whole life but its time that I open my heart and my eyes that I can no longer be a doormat. I have to accept that maybe he does love me just not like he should have. He took advantage of my trust, my heart, and my love. I really wanted to stay married to him my whole life but the cost is too high, this is my life. I only have one life and at my judgement day I cannot say, " God, I really screwed that up. Can I go back and do it again?" Its time that I start living for me and my children. I only have control of myself and if I stay and allow myself to emotionally be destroyed then I failed. I dream of finding happiness and love. I would love to one day find someone who deserves my love and never takes it for granted. If I stay in this marriage I will never get that chance. It's time I accepted that my dream has died. Time to move on and make new dreams.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to read my post and reply. I love knowing that I am not alone. I knew I wasn't alone in the big wide world. That unfortunately other people were going through the same things. I stood back in silence for years. I had no voice because I didn't want to give other people anything to think or talk about. Its so private knowing that you have big problems and struggle everyday. I just found this site this week I already feel like I have sisters out there. I love being able to have a safe place to express that this SUCKS!!

Today I am struggling with knowing I could not help him. Don't you worry one second I tried, Lord knows I tried. But in the end I could not help him. He made his own choices. I feel like its so hard to accept that truth, even though I know its true. There are pills and doctors and therapy and ......... but that is what I would have done. Not him. I would have gotten help. Me. Not him

Im going to sit on that today and take my millionth deep breath. It is what it is

If he did love you, it would be impossible for him to have ever abused you. You can only take so much. I know because I was married for 23 years to an abusive man. You are doing the right thing for yourself and your children, even though I know it's very difficult.
