It's certainly not easy..Although it would have been alot smoother had my hubby's X not been such a B*&%$! She fought him with everything, still does...My X on the other hand we all get along great..
My kids are more accepting of my new hubby and well his kids, I blame on the mother..and her parental alienation tactics as for hating me and our relationship.
We both waited til we were sure of a commitment before involving the kids too much. If we did involve the kids it was only day trips and activities to see where all would fit into this picture of commitment also...The siblings all get along great...and so we moved forward..
His kids still have awkward times of accepting our relationship but again most of that is imposed from his X. So that is there loss but we are happily married with struggles for sure about our kids from time to time..
Wishing you the best, its not impossible and certainly not easy always...Do take your time til you are sure you know this man is pretty commited and is a true soul mate. That usually takes about 15mos of interview process type dating to see if this is really a potential partner or a disaster waiting to happen..
Take you time have fun, dates...Not extended stays over, not getting the heart tooo involved until you can figure if you have what it takes...
The four top things for divorce is :::: Finances, Religion, Inlaw family acceptance or not{ Kids}, and children rearing and expectation differences... If you cover these things and its all good then you have a keeper but sort these things out before the heart and body go there you have less chance of a heartache all the way around...
I have been in this relationship for about 18 months..although 11 of those 18, he has been deployed overseas,
He returned back home almost 2 weeks ago. Our relationship is exclusive and serious. When we were talking yesterday, he asked about meeting my son and thinks its time as they have never met before. I have kept my personal life just that, personal. He actually just met my best friend for the first time last weekend.
I feel ok about this...but I really want to be sure I am doing the right thing.
Is timing everything????
