Three years into what "appears" to be a loving relationship. We have really been through a lot together including HIS drug addictions to both crack and pills. He is now clean. I am sure of that for many reasons but now HE has no desitre for sex? It makes me feel unloved, unwanted, undesired and untrusting. We talk about it. He claims it is due to recovering from the addictions and that it is just not "important to him". I'm not buying it. I really don't think he is getting it somewhere else. I just think he is not interested in me in that way now that he is straight. I think he is living in denial and is willing to give up sex for the other "perks" of our situation. I make more than him and help him raise his little boys. He knows I would catch him cheating and I would put him out in a second. I really think he chose to be with me and give up sex because I am everything he wants in a woman in everyother way. He says he was a ho in his younger years and all of his previous relationships were based on sex and none ever worked out. He shows me love in many other ways but the physical is sooo lacking. If I didn't push it would never happen. I am tired of feeling so "unpretty" because of it. He calls me beautiful and tells the world how much he loves me but when the lights go out he goes right to sleep! He is 42 and has put himself through a lot with the drugs of his past. Could there be a physical reason? Or I am I just looking past the "flashing red lights"?

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

He is dealing with a lot...Ive talked about this with a male friend, he brought up a good point from the man's perspective...sex is a LOT of pressure, men want to please their lady...he's got so much on his emotional plate right now and is so lucky to have you there cheering him on and supporting him and his kids through his recovery.
As women I think we think all men want sex, all the time...but would you want sex if you were going through all he is.
Its not you - take care of you, if you have issues with your body, they are yours to fix, see a therapist that can help you with self esteem issues and be gentle with yourself and him...
Sounds like you have potential for a good relationship...work through the issues as they come and they won't become monsters!
ps your photo is lovely you are a beautiful woman!!

He probably has done damage to his system (how could there not be?) It's something I think you guys should work on. It is nice to hear that he does show you affection in other ways and tells you that you are beautiful too. It shows you that he cares for you, and that the problem is not you or your looks. He has some stuff going on that's for sure.
