If it is in the garage, and not outside, it is probably a cockroach.
They look a little bit alike.

but they don't sound alike.....I've had crickets in the house and the garage..

I had a pet cockroach once. Named him Colossus. He disappeared one night too. It was sad. Sorry Rman.

I have thousands of crickets in the bushes around my yard.
They sing me to sleep.
I try not to let them in the house.

I had a Black Racer (snake) that hung out in my yard. I used to see it all the time. I haven't seen it in a couple of months :(. I miss it.

I had this huge pet parasite in my house, it was called my husband. I left the house and the parasite with it. I miss both from time to time.

I really hate those hundred legger things....I mean REALLY hate.

My son despirately wants a pet, and a year or two ago, he came up the stairs really excited about a bug he found. (A little while before I let them keep a ladybug as a pet.) So without thinking I said yes, until I saw that it was one of those hundred legger things.

I made him kill it. (Hysterical mom, screaming KILL KILL.)

He did.

So just be grateful that your mom didn't make you kill your new pet.
