Does anyone else out there go through moods and it really effects what type of music they listen to? Sometimes I get in a mood for sea shanties when I start thinking of sailing. Other times I get in the mood to listen to the Rolling Stones because I am somewhat depressed or feel like doing some drinking. Other times I get in a party mood and I start listening to Jimmy Buffett. I also went through an interesting bunch of music moods during this entire divorce process.

What music moods do you guys have? Has your music moods changed since the divorce?

Yes. I try to stay away from sad bastard music and try to listen to more upbeat things.

I went from 1300 songs on my ipod to about 1100 after the break up LoL I didnt even want to deal with them.

I am still triggered by some songs. I listened to a lot of Alanis for awhile. LOL Music does stir the soul.

I had to stay away from Sad also, and listen to upbeat tempo, inspirational ones such as Proud, but finally I claimed my blues back and all is right in the music world at my house.

I listen to whatever is on the classic vinyl station on my XM radio.

It's usually upbeat so that's why I like that particular station.

Sea Shanties are the traditional work songs that they sung aboard sailing ships. There were many different kinds of shanties. There were capstan shanties, work shanties, heaving shanties, and other types. The type was based on the type of rhythm it had.

I just really love Journey. I think they are so great.. No matter what kind of mood I'm in, it just does something for me.
