Whatever the reason he is with her it's their problem now. Pretend step daddies true colors will show themselves eventually.
All that's in your power to do is make that stable place for your children who need that.
My mom left my dad for less than a year after I graduated from high school. She took my 14 year old brother with her, moved 2 thousand miles away. The older kids and I thought it was for the best. I think the second she left and I took off for college, my dad brought his gf and her 2 or 3 kids into the house. She was probably 15 years younger and her kids were smaller - in the 5-10 year range. My dad has no patience for kids, he was a father not a dad. That relationship did not last too long, so there is also the chance that your kids will not have to endure the gf and daughter once they return from their summer with you. Living together with someone you don't really know can lead to lots of stress and if he's already someone with poor coping and communication skills, they might not last long playing house. He may be setting her up to be the "little woman" he had you acting as, and she may not even want that role. They probably haven't defined their expectations for their relationship. For your boys' sake, I hope they don't stay together. What a mess, I feel so bad for you and them. You're one tough cookie though. Nurses are the best!!
Its good you sound like you are going to put your kids first. That is the biggest thing. They need something . someone to believe in. You being a rock for them will not only do them good, but yourself.
@ChiTownBear: So many things have already come at me. When I left I left everything. I didn't fight for alimony I didnt want to hurt him, and I didnt want to drag things out and make it harder on my kids. In return he agreed to continue making my car payment and hen I got out of school I could buy the car from him. That lasted 5 months. He asked for the car back last month. I walk to work and rely on him to bring me my kids to visit for now. My brother in law is being amazing and fixing my really old car that I left down here years ago for my mom to use. Hopefully I will have a car in two weeks. Im not telling my ex about this yet since the car is in our names im afraid he will try to take it. I feel like he is still trying to ruin things for me. I will make it through this, I will be with my kids, and when all is said and done Me and my kids are going to be happy, and thats all I really want in the end.
I wouldn't tell him anything, but I would start standing up for myself.
He took the car? He might take the other one? Ugh.
He would have to take me to court.
I know some people avoid conflict. Heck, i don't like it either. But if I had allowed it, my living ex husband would have taken with everything i had after 24 years.
I thank God every day for my lawyer, because i had never been through that before and knew nothing and was terrified.
Just planting seeds in your mind. You have rights, you deserve better. Don't allow him to dictate to you or control you.
Now you know.
Your family says he'll come crawling back? My question is why would you take him back? So he can con you and use you until he finds someone else?
Hes shown you who he is. If you did st any point take him back, it would be on you. He's not going to change.
