Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
However, there is one more thing I need to add:
- honestly , do you and your husband realize what kind of impact your behavior has on the children???
I ve made mistakes myself, this is why I am pointing this out to you, if nobody else will, so maybe you can fix it while there is time.
This only happened in November and he is already moving in with someone ?
I don't understand it at all. If he is nuts , someone has to be the same one. I understand that it hurts , but it is going to hurt a lot more when the kids start having emotional problems because of this mess.
Please take good care of yourself. You will be happy again, but right now he has to go. You need to focus on yourself and the children and if you date, do not let the kids know. Nothing.
My kids know nothing. I dated quite a few people after divorce and my children only met one man in 7 years.
Sounds like a selfish jerk.
So when you ask; "Did he care that little about me?" the answer is Yes.
You made it easy for him when you left to care even less. I get that you two were not getting along and it was the right move for you but you kept communication going when it needed to be no contact to drive the point home. He was already over it and was loving the free weekends he was getting without all the hassel of being in the relationship anymore. No contact was what as needed if not only to protect yourself and most certainly the kids from more hurt.
it doesn't appear he is thinking about the kids at all with his plans for the summer. For him to tell teh kids those plans doesn't seem to me, like he has any parental responsibilities instilled in him in one bit. Its selfish and inconsiderate for a parent to let a teenage or younger know he will be shacking up with someone for a few months.
What the what?!?! Who really does that? Not someone who is a father or mother.
So now you know where you stand. Your plan didnt work. So now its time to get a new plan together. One that will protect you and your kids. I hope that with the latest information of his new ho moving in you will be able to see that the first decision you made to end it, was the one you really needed to make for you and your kids. I know, it sucks to be dumped, as harshly and without notice as this was. But I believe that when things happen, we need to maybe look at why it happened. Sometimes, we don't do the things for ourselves that we need to do. So something like this needs to happen; to get us to really see what is for us and what is not for us.
Much luck as you continue to deal with this situation and make a new plan.
Welcome to the group
You signed the divorce papers, slept with him, had a plan.... what??
Sounds like a lot of game playing when there are children involved.
Your son already sounds angry. Any plans from either parent to deal with that? Or is it just revolving beds and self centered schemes from everyone involved?
@ Chi Town Bear: Yes I realise having a plan was kind of playing games, let me give you a little back story. I will try to sum up. I met my ex when I was 18. I had just caught my BF of 3 years cheating on me, I was a wreck. My ex had been asking me out for a while and at the encouragement of friends and family I accepted. Thats the first and last time I will ever attempt a one night stand. He got me pregnant on purpose, He told me marry him or he would take my child. I was dumb and young so I did. we only knew each other for 4 months when I became his wife. After that there was a lot of him not working, video game addiction and at least 3 accounts of cheating that I know of. He is a very smooth talker, convinced all of his friends that I was crazy and controlling and I had trust issues. He claimed he couldn't have a social life because of me. . . My plan was to start completely over. I wanted to be a real couple I wanted to date, learn his interests better rekindle something. And maybe eventually get married again the right way. That didn't happen. I am trying my best to accept it and move on. He has never been much of a father our days from the very beginning has been I cook I clean I tend to the kids and all kid related things. He has never had to do anything for them ever. I actually thought this time would be good, they could bond.. Instead he leaves them alone more often than not to go out with his new girl friend.
@clearDay 1: There are no revolving beds when It comes to me. I am in no rush. The only reason I continued to sleep with my ex is because I was under the impression there was still something there to work with. My plan now is to go to school call my boys every day, see them every chance I get and move the hell back home. I still have a year to go but Ive already called apartment complexes to discuss moving in and relocation, Ive already looked into Jobs in the area, Ive already started saving money. this is my new plan. Go home and take care of my kids. Im not saying I did the right thing here, but this is only the second person ive ever been with and I dont jump around from men to men. I have to get to know a person for me there is no sex without love.
@jojored: I have looked into other school. Its crazy with nursing, every school requires a different set of prerequisites. Any school closer and id have to add on at least another 6 months of school. plus here I have familial support. Thank you everyone for your help and insight. I feel better already. If you have any other questions of need to know anything else to help me out and give me advice please just ask. Thank you
I hope when you say "go home" it won't be back to your toxic ex.
I hope you find a good place where you and your children can start a new life, sans the video game playing, woman using ex
They are at least not hiding their feelings about what is going on. This gives you the opportunity to address it with them so to be supportive of their feelings while bonding with what you are going through. You all will need each other to get through this.He appears to be setting up his summer vacation already and this will continue to affect everyone involved.
Unhealthy. You seem to have a good
Attitude, it's hard as we all know trying
To detach emotionally from our ex.
Keep yourself and children safe, therapy
And support groups Would be great tool.
Your ex Sounds like and addict and an
abuser. DV is out there too.
My ex got abusive towards me, its often
slow moving And we can not see whats
really been happening until we get out
and we are safe.
Best of luck dealing with him, hugs to
Your boys
