As far as the facebook stuff, I had a similar thing going on. It is why I went from 40 some friends down to 12. I cut anyone out that had contact with her, to help avoid your problem. Facebook really is evil, but at the same time, if your true friends use it to plan and communicate, it is hard to not be on it just for updates on what is going on. I'd say pair down the people who have contact with you both, and those that are truly friends, tell them you don't need to know, nor want to know. If they really are your friends, they will respect that for you. I know mine have.
I'm sorry for your pain... and I know how lack of sleep can be a problem. My mornings were OK, but my nights really difficult--and I got really sleep deprived at one point.
I think that working out is a great idea--but not just before bed. Maybe work out earlier in the evening so that you'll still be tired, but your body won't be amped up post workout.
Hoping you start feeling better soon!
