I'm so sorry you are having to endure this pain. We can all relate. I can relate missing my wife and she is still living with me. We all will get through this and when each of us arrives on the other side of this traumatic ordeal, we be tempered from the forge. Happiness will be within reach once we've been through the process. I know its a cliché but give it time. Try and get through this tough part right now and you'll slowly start to feel better, hopefully!

I still miss him all the time, some days are worse than others, but it does get better with time. Every time I miss him is close my eyes and send him thoughts of love and peace and try to move on. It's hard. Hang in there.

I agree with ripped. Do not confuse the man you miss in your heart with the one who has left. They are two very different people. The one you miss, you have yet to meet. Praying for strength and peace in your heart for you, and those others sharing the same feelings in these posts.

You will keep remembering these things (the good things) for as long as you want or need to. BUT if you're at the point where it's time to start moving forward and start the healing process then you need to replace these thoughts with the bad things you DON'T miss. It's a rough journey but the sooner you knock them off of their unworthy pedestal the sooner you find you can do and live without them.

I know it's hard, it took me a long time but there really is life after the heartbreak. Good luck and stay strong and start your new journey, they are not worth the pain and suffering we left behind seem to endure. Hugs!

No, you don't miss "him". You don't miss the man for whom you bought pills and dope, the man supported financially, the man who treated you with disrespect, dishonestly and apathy.

You miss the memory of who he you thought he was, not the real man. You miss the dream of who you hoped he would become and the future you might have had together. You miss the idea of being in love.

Well said everyone! Im also trying to get rid of the memories of who he was when he was extremely sweet and caring. But that person doesn't exist anymore. He merely convinced himself to ACT like he loved me and tricked me into believing it. If he really loved, how could he remain emotionless when I'm hurt. How could he stare with those cold eyes and smirk when I was so lonely. How can he simply say, "i just want out, I don't want anything to do with u anymore, trust me. U need help, and I can't help you." will there ever be a man who truly love me? And if this person appears, will he stay the same forever? At deathbed, some actually confessed that they don't truly love their spouse but stay because of responsibility. Maybe only I can be sure of loving myself for as long as I live!
