Once again, that's why I prefaced what I said before saying it. It's my opinion, other women in their 40's and 50's agree. You didn't have to respond to the post I made, you were just looking to blat all over someone and here I was. I'm hurting, but not that much anymore. It is what it is. You chose to make a provocative statement. So much so that you felt the need to qualify it. I can only infer that by your statement in the context of the thread( "They don't want to put up with bull shit anymore.") ,
that you feel men are serving up bullshit to women and as a result are getting divorced.

I think both men and women have endured pain from a spouse having a "mid-life crisis" that resulted in divorce. By sheer numbers however, there are far more women here than men. That's just a fact. Doesn't mean we women are allowed to throw around gender-bashing stereotypes born of our own individual experiences, and I don't think Tegian meant to do that. Hard sometimes in these posts to tell because words in print don't have the nuances of the spoken ones. The statement that women in their 40's don't want any bullshit doesn't necessarily mean that ALL men are dishing it out, Bernie. I was warned at age 30 to divorce that man by a marriage counselor. *ugh*

The weird thing I've found isn't so much about age, but how long the marriage has been.

It's as if once a marriage hits about 7 years or so, it's almost as if your chances of having the shit hit the fan go up exponentially. That's when things first started sucking bad for me and I got to 10 years before it finally, really exploded.

True DAB...never thought of it that way...I could say the same thing the 9 year itch and mine imploded year 11-12. Let's start that thread.
