Hi, this is my first time doing this. I am 41 years old separated from my husband of 19 years, together 24. He is in jail for Domestic Violence , has been there since November. I have 3 children 14, 18, and 20. I went from stay at home mom to supporting us overnight with nothing to start with. He was 100 percent controlling, I have no friends no family around. I now work and have my own apartment with my kids but am so depressed. I have been so isolated for so long I don't know what to do with myself. I feel so lost and have no-one at all to talk to. I just don't know what to do. I haven't even wanted to get put of bed all weekend, it is getting bad. Amy advice.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

I first suggest you journal about your struggle and your pain, as you heal, grow and recover it will show others that is is possible to survive.
Your journey will be long, and at times horrible. You do not have to do it alone.
A good church will help you and your family. A good church can offer great support.
I hope you have family to help you as well.
Reaching out and telling your story is very important.
Not only will it help you heal, but it will help someone else come forward and help them out of a horrible situation.
Continue to come here for support as well.
There is help all around you, just on the other side of your fear. The first person i am thinking could help is my niece who is a single mom eaking out a new career with 3 kids and a deadbeat sex addicted ex who isnot paying child support. She is bright, warm, insightful and loving. And will spend lots of time hearing your heart. And loving on you, because she gets it.
Not sure how to get you connected with her, but we can figure it out if you want to call her.
It is pretty safe here to say what your feeling, and I am sure there are women here who will safely love on you too.
This wilm sound soooo cliche, but when you need to break through lonliness, the easiwst way is to go help someone with something. It could be as easy as going to a laundarymat with 2 or 3 bucks and telling people you want to pay for their laundary load jus tso yiu can feel better, to going to the pound and helping feed the cats and dogs.
We are designed by God to be in community, and giving anything to anyone creates waves of love that fills us back up.
I will call Sarah, now and see how to get you together.
And again, thank you for the gift of my feeling sad, and kind and mindful and hopeful for you over the last few minutes while I wrote this.
You are free now! All that is left is learning to believe, think feel and act that way.
