Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
One thing I'd encourage you to do is go for a walk every day. It doesn't have to be far, at least not at first. But go a little farther every day. The exercise and fresh air will help combat the depression and will help with your energy level so maybe it will get easier to get off the couch.
I'd also encourage you to find a hobby or reconnect with friends. Find things that will take up some of your time. Volunteer. Whether you think so or not, you have something to offer others even if it's just support and encouragement. You'll probably get more out of it than you put into it.
I know it's hard, I really do. I do all of these things and still can't seem to fill up the hole that his leaving created in my life. But by doing all of these things I don't have so much time to sit around and think about it. I refuse to wallow in this and I refuse to let it take over my life. I will NOT give it that much power.
If you're not already seeing a counselor, I'd suggest that, too. You can't tie your worth or the value of your life up in someone else. It's too much pressure for that person and you're setting them up to fail because they can't provide those things for you.
Hugs to you!!
Maybe you can begin to put the focus and energy towards you! Do things that nurture you; massage, facial, yoga, exercise. Most of all love you, you!
This won't be easy letting go but the longer it goes on, the deeper you might sink, I don't think anyone would feel that is a good trade off.
(((Hugs)))
What do you mean by ...you ruined it? You have obviously left something out of your post which is the reason he can't trust you. Sitting on the couch is not the solution, and you really need to get yourself together to do your homework, take care of the bills etc because all those aren't going to do themselves.
If you think it's "forced" meeting with your ex, then you need to cut the cord and move on, focusing on rebuilding your life and making sure history doesn't repeat itself just for a bit of fluff....i.e. the reason he can't trust you again, which you haven't told us.
