Last few days

Wife and I have been apart a week now physically although its a month or so since the 'seperation'...


I have generally been Ok.  My mum has been incredible in supporting me.


The last 3 days though have been awful, truly awful.    Incomprehensible sadness, my heart feels like lead, my brain wont shut down and I just want to cry, feel I need to cry but have never been someone who has found that easy.


Saw our daughter yesterday and that didnt help,  as much as it was wonderful to spend time with her. 


I miss the presence my wife brought to our house (I'm in the family home at the moment), I miss her being the thing I saw last thing at night and first thing in the morning, I miss her taking all the bedsheets, I miss her tangling up with me when we slept...I miss playing subconsciously with my wedding ring, a hunk of metal but a hunk of metal that meant so much.


I miss the 'x' that has disappeared from texts, I miss taking her a tea in the morning and her legs across me when she sprawled out on the sofa watching tv.


It's the little thing's that are getting me down....how do you cope with those ????

Staying the family home brings such a level of sadness and hurt. So sorry ((hugs))

Its full of ghosts..maybe that isnt helping. We still have pictures up, most of her and the kids stuff is here...and she is literally opposite me at her fathers house as well.

She was and is my absolute world.

I'm having the same problem right now, though my husband and I are in the same house still. Waking up and going to sleep alone is so painful. I miss him. Trying to hang in there. I hope you can hang in there too.

It's tough isn't it. Trying to untangle 14 years in the house you spent them in is so hard

My wife and I are divorcing and in the same house. I try to minimize contact but it's going to be difficult for a while. I will try to keep our home but plan to repaint and erase her touch so it becomes my house and not hers. Everyday is a flood of emotions and I vacillate between anger, sadness and acceptance.

Pretty much were I am...every emotion known to man. She isnt at home but her presence is....how do you cope ?

This is why I left the family home and got my own. I need to be within walls that have never known him. It gets easier give it time.

I see your strength in reaching out for support. I know it’s tough for you now. But, you are tough too. This is not your fault. I see you desire to take the necessary steps to cope in the future, and this will also help your daughter. You’ll clearly a strong person. The memories of the good times are often thought about and cherished. I’m wondering what coping has worked for you in the past?. Also, I see you mentioned support from your mom or maybe others who would understand. I wish you the best.

If you love her very much be hopeful then. What's the reason? I mean if there is a little chance please use it, go and talk with her instead of living with this pain please. On the other hand if you think this is the end. Give yourself time feel the pain of course you are so awful because you loved and this is so respectful you great usually a few weeks later you can start to feel normal. And after a few months and then 6 months later usually feeling better. I go to walk or run in this kind of painful evenings it doesn't matter how cold out you can do that it works. Staying with your family home is very good choice or the best friend's home. Always better then been alone.. I wish the best says for all of us. All nights bring mornings so be stronger please for yourself and family and your daughter.

Maybe this sounds grim, but look at the entire huge picture of life. If you are lucky, you may live to your 80's. I'm in my 40's. Half my life is already over. Just another 40 years to go and I'm outta here. And where does that lead me? I'm Catholic, and I hope my name is on the invite list into Heaven. Then there won't be an ounce or even a second of pain and sadness. Just pure bliss and joy and love. Ahhhh..... can't wait. In the meantime, I will raise and love and support my cherished children and try to leave a good imprint on the world. Ever see people walk barefoot on burning coles without feeling pain or injury? It's possible to control one's brain. My wish goes out to all reading this that you find the ability within yourself to not feel the emotional pain in your life right now and rise above all suffering to a greater level of existence.

Its a comfort to read these comforts...over the last few days my wife has actually been quite nasty, which in a way helps me...sounds strange but it does.

Its mainly because she isnt getting her own way...which after my first session with a counsellor was something that was drawn out....I'd recommend a counselor to anybody who's not in a great place....
