Hang in there and be strong, I know you can do it. The hardest part is probably leaving your "comfort zone." I too will have to face this soon once my children are done with school and I find a new place to live. We've been here 3.5 years and I had put all of my money from the sale of my premarital condo into this house to raise our family here. He made it IMPOSSIBLE for us to keep the house and now I must uproot my children even more.

One way to look at your move is that you can make the world of unknowns beautiful - you won't have the horrible reminders of how bad things were if you were to stay in the home that you shared. It is a fresh start for you, one that you can fill with wonderful things without being haunted by the past when you walk into a particular room. You can leave the ghosts behind. Good luck to you! :)

I went exactly through the same thing. Of everything that we went through, leaving my house was perhaps the most difficult one. I cried a lot and was the moment when reality hit me. That was tow months ago and it took me three weeks before I could move to my own apartment. I love my new place and have decorated it exactly the way I wanted , I am still working on it. It has a beautifyl view and I listen to the music I love, but there is still a sense of void. I am not sure that I can describe exactly what but I think that it is not exactly just him ( I loved him deeply and did not want the separation) but our life together. However, working on the new place and inviting friends over has helped.

Don't think of it as the End but think of it as a new BEGINNING. A new chance to do what you need to do for yourself. Choose your destiny and pursue it. Good luck BAM.

How exciting tommorrow anything is possible....you never have to clean up his mess again or have him trumping around your house...you can decorate and set things up the way you like it and the rest of your life is ahead of you......this is a beginning of a new life which required the death of the old life celibrate the birth....

Now though u can do the place up as u like...I suggest a few purchases u know he would have hated but u love.

I'm quickly approaching the same milestone as you, and i'm scared to death. I will pray for you that you stay strong and find peace.

Keep this close to your heart. Most people dont get a second chance at this. Divorce sucks, but what ever the reasons for it, one positive thing is a new lease on life. Looking back only prevents us from looking forward. Better and brighter days are there for the taking. Go get the life you wanted, not the one you got stuck with.

Be brave, change is hard. You can make your own life now and do it to it's fullest!

I leave in another month or so. I am nervous too but don't look back to the past it distracts from the now. I am sure its only going to get better.

I did the same thing months ago. I packed for weeks and felt excited. The day before moving I looked around my house and couldn't believe this was really it. Though I knew this was exactly what I wanted, I still found it to be one of the hardest days of my life. The first week in my apartment was the loneliest. Days and nights got better. I am now doing pretty good. One day at a time...

Be strong..like others have said it's a new beginning. I did the same thing back in December. I know the feeling, but it does get better. Think of all the "new" things that will be. I'll be thinking of you.

My closing is today at 4pm. I have never been more excited to move my life forward, I am enjoying becoming the independent me again - I was too involved in being Mrs. ___. Now I have the opportunity for new eeriences, new memories - and I control every penny I spend - no more hogging the remote.

Don't look back at all. That life wouldn't ever be able to be the same no matter how hard you tried.

I left my house too, it was probably the harding thing I ever did but yet it was the best thing. I have good memories of the time we were there. But at my house now my daughter and I are making new memories. Change is never easy but it does get better with time. Karen :)

I don't want to leave my house but it's going to happen. I'm preparing for it by getting my kids involved in finding a new house and will let them decorate their rooms and choose some furniture. I guess what i'm saying is that you try to temper the pain by finding "enjoyable tasks" to go along with it. I know my wife is looking forward to having the chance to decorate her own place - she likes that and is good at it.
