Yes. I believe in fate. The horrible drama we go through is just life and how people handle their emotions and situations in it.

No. Karma is not real. If karma was real three year olds wouldn't get cancer and nobody would kill puppies for fun.

The only kind of karma and fate/destiny I believe in is of the self-inflicted variety.

Karma and fate aren't the same thing, as far as I know.

I believe in Karma, but not in Fate.

The hard thing with Karma, though, is that you rarely see it come back to the other people who have wronged you, but sooner or late it does. Not because of some mystical force in the universe, but BECAUSE they are the type to wrong other people, sooner or later they will get themselves into trouble, because that is their nature.

I think your situation is the sum of your choices...bad choices = bad situations, but I think calling it karma or fate makes it seem more mystical than it is. To me, it's more of an A + B = C thing.

#4. Im with you. I think Karma is a bad thing, where fate is whats suppose to be. Its almost hope. Granted hope doesnt always work out like we like it, but its hope.

I think karma is real. But I don't think it means it will happen to a person in this lifetime. Maybe their next. Or their next after that. Maybe that explains the whole kids getting cancer and people offing puppies thing.

Fate? It wouldn't surprise me that we are on all pre-destined paths and our decisions then decide how f'd up or not it becomes.

Is not what happens to us - is how we chose to react to it - so I don't think is either karma nor fate - but life. No one is exempt from suffering. We should appreciate both - the good days and the bad ones, that's what builds character and endurance - the hard times.

Watch the movie and documentary with Marlee Matlin called 'what the bleep.....down the rabbit hole'. It explains all of that and talks about quantum physics etc......excellent movie!

fate?, no. Higher being with a plan for us (God) yes and no. I believe in a loving and forgiving God. God may have a plan for each of us but, we all have free will, and our the choices we make with our free will boogers up things,
I do not belive that people are meant to be together or that there is a soul mate out there for each of us, after the romance cools or the lust subsides the chemisrty of a realtionship will still be there if both partners understand that things run hot and cold, that thier partner is not perfect, that they each need to work on the relatoship, that both are all in by that i mean not 50% / 50% but 100% / 100%
In this world people don't necessarily get what they deserve, being nice to others won't garuntee any of us a better life here, God does not have a plan for us, God has a call for us to do the right thing(s), hopefully you hear and respond to the call and your will cross paths and entwine with someone else that is like minded

If fate did not exist then we would not have to die :-).

Many scientists come to the conclusion life is deterministic because all the underlying systems are. I think they're caught in the bubble of their scientific discipline. Can't see the forest through the trees.

Free will cannot violate the underlying rules of nature. :-)

Cool! I found 'Down the rabbit hole' on YouTube. Watched the first two segments. I do remember watching it once on one of the cable science channels. Really great stuff!

Einstein called quantum entanglement 'Spooky action at a distance'. He also dismissed quantum mechanics in general, stating 'God does not play dice with the universe'. He thought it all sounded too supernatural and nonsensical.

There's also a theory out there called "Orch OR". It's a theory of quantum consciousness. Most scientists dismiss it, however most 'scientists' dismissed Copernicus and Galileo too...

I am not a bible thumper, just a believer.
Fate: Jeremiah 29:11 (For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord).
Karma: Galatians 6:7-8 ( We reap what we sow).
I believe there are forces, good and bad, that influence our every action and consequences for those actions.
And I believe in being led in certain directions by those forces. I think sometimes we call them coincidences, intuition, or our gut feeling. Fate, yup....Karma, yup......I believe in both.
