When the ex and I broke up it was like getting the rug pulled under me. I couldn’t really pin point on how exactly we got here but we did and now it was over. The last 2 to 3 months have been a very long roller coaster ride. Every day was a battle just to get through them. As time goes by the pain does lesson and you manage to find ways to live for yourself. I've been a member here for a few weeks now and I noticed a pattern on how people treated their ex.
You should all be proud that you did all you could to keep the relationship going, not just when it started to go bad, but when you first started the relationship in the first place. I noticed that a lot of people here went out of their way to make their husbands, wives, boyfriends, and girlfriends happy. To other people it may have been going out of your way to make them happy but I believe to you it was just natural because you loved them. I'm sure we all have memories where we did things just so they could have a smile on their face. For instance, waking up early to cook breakfast and surprise them, being at the store and buying something out of the blue because you knew it was make them smile to receive it, take them on a surprise concert, or just giving them a just because greeting card and flowers. I don't know about you but that’s the type of person I would want to be with. You realized what was important to you and you did all you could to make them realize it.
Have you ever noticed strangers talk nice things about you. How nice you are or just comment on your great qualities. There's a reason why they do that and that’s because it stands out. The sad truth is people get use to being treated well and after a while they kind of just expect it. They take us for granted and stop appreciating all the big as well as the little things we do for them.
It was always their loss and they will never be able to have the pleasure of having our loving dedication and affection ever again. They will no longer get our priceless I love yous, our morning kisses, our loving hands, and most importantly our hearts. They lost the one thing in their lives that would have never turned their backs on them.
We will probably never understand why people do things but we need to understand that it wasn't us. That we are a catch and have so much to offer to anyone who we come across. There's no reason to get down on yourself. You have so much more life to live and now you have a fresh start. I'll leave you with a quote I ran across...
“I remain hopeful, and steadfast in my belief that whatever is meant to be for me will find me. I’m not going to chase it, seek it, or hunt it down. I’ve drawn it to me before I will again, and so will you. Don’t let your heart ever stop believing that somewhere out there someone was meant to keep it safe for you.”
