One phrase we all need to remember when it comes to dealing with our exes is that "It's Over!" That is right....It is over. When the decision was made by them or us to leave, it was time to start a new phase of our life.
It is so easy and natural to be hurt. How could they do this to me? We make ourselves the victims of this event.
WE AREN'T VICTIMS!!!! We are survivors! That is right, we have survived hard times before and we will survive them again. Remember that you were once your own person and you were happy before you met your ex.
Life moves on, distance from the event makes us heal more, but the fact of the matter is that this is all a lesson.
We must loose the victim mentality. Forget about the horrible things that were done to you. Focus on the good things that you can do for yourself. Don't allow yourself to be victimized....ever!!!

I wonder why it is so easy for men to move on to the next great woman so much sooner than woman move on to a new man.
Ok, don't slaughter me here. In my experience....men just move on WAY FASTER than woman. Not going to give my further opinion about why cuz then I would be hung out to dry.....
Just saying...
It took me a while to heal enough to get into a relationship. I have been divorced for over a year now and longer separated.
No particular sex heals faster........we all, as a person, heal differently.
