This morning marks the day that I filed the divorce forms with the court so hopefully this is a step in reaching some closure. I will have them served on her tomorrow so barring any complications, it should finalize on August 4.
This was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and I was ok in the clerks office until she started stamping the papers with the case number and that's when I lost it and started to cry. She handed me some tissues to dry my eyes and told me that it's never easy and I'm not the first guy that has cried there while filing the papers. She had a very sympathetic manner that helped me calm down and regain my composure but when it was all said and done, I couldn't get out of that office quick enough.
I've been sitting here at work trying to put two coherent thoughts together and am finding it difficult. I'll be happy when 5 rolls around and I can get out of this office as well. I hope this is the start of better things but if it is, why does it hurt so bad?

All I can tell you is to just stay the course. The drama and all it's associated baggage is now in the process of being over. That is something to look forward to.
