Each month that goes by, I privately commemorate my divorce anniversary. It was seven months in July, and every day I know, for sure, that sadness about it is exactly what I DON'T feel.
27 years is a long time, but even you said you spent the last few years separated. That wasn't a marriage at the end. The relief, the stress being lifted from having a positive, definite direction is a wonderful, wonderful thing. I am so glad you're ready to move on! Best of luck!
I must be really into flogging that dead horse, because my relationship has been over for a year, but we still dated and saw each other monthly, talked every two to three days, but no commitment.
He has met someone new and has finally told me he no longer is willing to try. In a way it is good. It will force me to move on. If I am honest, I just miss the companionship and I am just envious that he has moved on first.
I am glad you are in a good place!
And I just received the final divorce decree last week almost a year to the day after I asked my ex to move out and the feeling of relief and freedom is even better!!!!
It is such a pleasure to come home to a peaceful haven after a day at work and not have to walk on eggshells!!!
One of these days I may even be dancing on the ceiling, it feels so good!!! I am with you on this!!!
Why should we feel guilty after giving it our best shot for so long!! We are now free to live our own lives on our own terms!
