Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
It's not the only reason, but it is a reason.
I will not feel shame for divorcing...I would have felt more shame staying, knowing I was fighting fo something my EX was too cowardly to admit he wanted out of. No, choosing to waste your time in a loveless marriage is so much more of a self-failure then cutting ties and taking a chance on life.
I suppose people think he sounds smart just because he works at Harvard..lots of dumb asses come out of Ivy League schools, so I wouldn't worry about it.
I guess I should feel grateful for recognizing my mistakes and being able to fix them in my life.

All the power to him. If it works for him, great.
I just think, MrBusinessTypes are not in the majority so his paradigm doesn't sit comfortably with the rest of us. My whole way of thinking and living is about as far removed from that as a person can get.
We're going to have to love the paradigms we have, or go shopping for one we like better, to hell with him.
But, more generally, I think he is talking about a failed marriage. I am not a failure - my marriage was - there's a difference.
Imagine if all life experiences were 'eplained' by theories , what would Eienstien say for a divorce ?!! Or Newton?!; Newton would probably say-- gravity applies to relationships as well ! or Eiestein's e=mc2 could mean ' Evarlasting marriages= Mutual respect x commitment x commitment.'
So, like my people here say, Sir (HBS prof), : dont force theories into unpredictable life experiences, esp., marriages ! There is no 'hence proved' here.
