Believe me, I know you're hurting, but getting her out of your life is a GOOD thing. I am currently living with my stbx too and it is very stressful because he is also spying on me. I can't have a phone conversation in my house because I feel he is listening. I know he spies on my computer, He's gone through my phone and my purse (caught him red-handed once too) AND our garbage! Like my stbx, she seems to really enjoy playing mind games with you and manipulating you. Oh and physically preventing you from leaving the room is actually considered domestic abuse. You deserve so much better than someone like that! SHE is the one who should have no chance!

I don't deserve anything. I appreciate you saying that, but I'm not going to be able to get over her any time soon. I try to stay positive, but always wind up feeling totally defeated. Mind you, I'm about 4 Jack and cokes in, but I am feeling mighty low right now. What the heck is wrong with me? I can give great advice, but can't practice what I preach. Such a conundrum.

I mean good lord, I cried to my boss today, and now my wife is questioning every freaking thing I do, claiming I don't love her and all this other stuff. I have to give up. I just have to. She also told me I have 24-48 hours to get out of the house. I laughed at that. Then she told me she would, and take the kids with her. So damn sick and tired of her bs.

It's easy to give great advice to others because you can see their situations more clearly. You aren't blinded by emotion. This is the same reason doctors won't usually treat their own family members. It doesn't mean you're a fake or weak. And yes, you do deserve better. No one deserves to be abused, lied to and spied on. I am still living with my stbx. It's not easy, but we are not having nearly the difficulties you are ... mainly I think because I refuse to discuss our marriage, our divorce or pretty much anything else with him outside of current events, our dog and our daughter. I see no point in discussing our marriage with him because it's over. No amount of talking in the world is going to change that. The old arguments are pointless now. And I'm not going to discuss our divorce with him because I can't believe anything he says, so again ... pointless. Maybe if you tried limiting your conversation with her. Is there a reason why one of you hasn't moved out yet?

Of course you're not going to get over her anytime soon..that's why this whole thing sucks and why it's called heartbreak..BUT I can absolutely positively tell you alcohol will make it worse. Alcohol is a depressant. Get it out of your system tonight but I wouldn't recommend continuing drinking..personally when my ex wife told me she was done and wanted out I stopped all booze for 8 months. Not even a beer. You have got to stay focused for yourself and your kids. It's one day at a time until eventually it's weeks and months and then a year..then another year. I'm almost 3 years out. It took me a year to start feeling better and 2 years to start really feeling normal. It took a lot of mental work and BOUNDARIES. Don't allow her to dictate terms and don't engage in petty bullshit. You have kids, look up "grey rock"...you'll be amazed how much better you'll feel once this stress is out of your life dude.

She is trying to force me to mive out. She has threatened to move and take the kids, but has not yet. No idea when one of us is making the move. I did tell her once one of us move that's it for me emotionally. We won't be friends, won't confide in each other , nothing. She can't accept that. F her.

Hey MontgomeryDad- my wife plays the same games. I'm crushed and she's angry and provoking me. Stay cool with her and don't self medicate. Us guys do that and only end up lower with the chance of saying or doing something stupid. Stay strong and hang in there man.

First you need to forgive yourself. It's ok to have bad days. We all have done and said stuff - no one is perfect. I do think physical separation may be the best for now though - even if it is couple days to clear your head and let her realize what it would be like. Once calm maybe you two can have a mature conversation.

I almost envy the fights you have with your wife. Mine is so emotionally checked out there is nothing to fight about. We literally don't talk unless it is about the kids. Every time I get emotional and I talk about us he shuts down even more and just ends up saying hurtful things like see this is why I don't want to be with you. So I will not engage anymore. It hurts - so I cry alone, to my friends and to you guys here.
