Today is particularly bad. First weekend after our divorce decision and I am alone. I've been working on my art but everything has become surrounded by this dark cloud. Things are a bit much. I went for drinks with friends last night and as people were leaving I was left alone with 1 of my female friends. It was probably the drinks but after talking for about half an hour she ask me to close my eyes as part of a visualization exercise. I did this and she tried to kiss me. She apologized, we paid and left seperately. Everything feels like a bad romance movie. More confusing situations have happened related to other female friends and colleagues.
I am in a bit of a shock. I haven't thought of a another woman for a very long time and this was so unexpected. I was not even alone with another woman over the last 12 years. I am really confused about the situation. I want to hike and go camping. Things that I always loved doing but my ex-wife did not want to do. I always wanted to travel and it never seemed possible till now. I want to focus on myself but now the situation has gotten more complicated. Right now I feel I should lock myself in a room for a week until everything calms down.
I just don't know what to do.
One of the things I did when my divorce was final and he moved out was to redo my bedroom in my style. It has become my oasis when I am feeling stressed and need an escape.
That lady friend of your gave you a gift, you've already kissed someone else, got it out of your system.
Moving on is not a definite date. it is a process of rebooting your life and filling it with new experiences and meeting new people. If you're a typical guy, most of your "friends" are really those you meet through your wife. So expect for those friendships to fade away.
Time for new ones!
It'll get better as you go. Right now? Things are raw and will be for some time.
