I want some advice for moving away

Guys I would like some advice. I live in Elko Nevada its freekin cold 0 right now. I want to relocated so somwhere warmer during the winter. I was thinking Saint George Utah but I callled there today and there unemployment is almost 10% Where can sombody move in the west where there is some jobs and its a warmer climet? I know with the country in this condition its hard. I am sick of this shit hole and the people here. I want a place where I cna get a place with a shop and work on my cars and my boats year around. I want a place where I can keep my cars clean and go cruzin and some place I dont have to pack a 12 gauge and a uzi for back up. The place is paid for I just want to sell and get the hell out! Theres nothing here for me anymore but misery. Thanks guys !

I was born and raised in Elko!!!!!

My cousin in spring creek says that the mines are hiring. . . not sure what field of work your looking at.

do a job hunt for the whole of the U.S. on what ever job site. See what state is hiring more for your cridentials. Would be the route I would take.

California eh? Like I said I want to move to place where I dont need a 12 gauge pump and a uzi under my pillow at night.
The only thing the mines are hiring here is educated people engineering degrees etc. If you dont know sombody out there for entry level its really hard to get on. I do marine repair and applicance repair. Thanks

California is one of the worst states right now. We're completely broke and our unemployment is close to the worst in the country. I think we're around 5th or 6th worst? To top it off it's still the most expensive state to live in. Yep the whether and landscape is gorgeous, but if you want to make a living and be able to afford a house I wouldn't suggest it.

A lot of people have been leaving California for a number of years and I know a lot of people who have moved to Texas because of the housing prices and jobs.

Well I can agree with you about moving some where that is warmer! I live in the midwest and it is cold and snowy, As soon as I can get the house sold I plan on moving too. I want to move to a warmer climate, but also near a military base, preferably an AF Base, as I am retired Air Force, and it would be nice to live near a base so I can use my military retirement benefits. Where I am at now the base I retired at closed. I have found so far the hard part is trying to get this house sold! I am residing in it til it sells. Not a good time for trying to sell a home!

Arizona, around the Phoenix or Sun City area is nice this time of year. There are a lot of senior citizens in this area but, it's a lot more safe than LA or Miami areas. I don't know what the job market is.

Ever thought about going south? Like Mississippi gulf coast area? I know it's a completely different direction, but it's warm there. Lots of construction jobs. Lots of marine repair jobs.

South I hear them Southern girls are realy frendly. I lived down in Phoenix when I went to Auto School and it was really depressed back then high crime gangs shit gettin ripped off I would of emagine that the crime is really bad now. 12 gauge uzi and a guard tower on top the house with a 50 cal big bang bang complete with flood lights. And thats just the day shift wait untill night. Then the fun really starts. Theres got to be some place out there where the job marked is decent. I thought the South was really depressed? Low wages and high unemployment?

I live in NJ cold too. In about a month or 2 I am going on the road driving a truck. Jobs and the cost of land up here is crazy. I am planing on going back to Fl. I was looking at houses down there. I can get a 3 BR , 2 bath for $40,000 and a 4BR , 2 bath on 10 acres of land for $120,000. The things are jobs suck down there but I will be driving OTR so I will ahve a job.

It depends on what your skills are Cuda, if it's boats then I think the gulf coast may be a good place too. I know someone who has moved around a lot and decided to stay in the Florida panhandle area. I think around panama beach area, says he really likes it there.

You'll have to do your research and make sure you would be moving for all the right reasons and remember what, if anything, you would be leaving behind. Grass isn't always greener. Good luck to you

Check out Austin, TX...

Great city for a number of reasons (and very different from the rest of Texas...)

I used to live there but it was still way too Texas for me (being from San Francisco!)

It's a very fun city too if you're into live music & partying.

I am living in Canada our province is booming- housing is through the freaking roof and so is rent and it's winter which means lots of snow and way way below 0 like -40 below that 0.
So there are jobs here and the rest sucks!
I lived in San Diego for a while, ahh I so miss California, I miss palm trees!
Yep warm is so much better, I miss the sun too, haven't seen it for so long. Dang I need to move too! I want to move but Canada doesn't have the nice nice nice warm places to live :(

The Candian Goverment would take a dim view on my AK-47s I do love Canada though the people there are really nice!

    My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...
