In the long run, you will see that your updated "ever after" is going to be so much better than what you originally thought. You cannot stay with someone who cheats on you and have things end well. You said that you deserve better. You're right. So, keep telling yourself that, and put you and your son first. Get counseling and start living your new life without your cheating husband. You can do this!!! Focus on on the next chapter of your life. Envision you and your son walking on a beach, building sandcastles and jumping in the waves. You don't have the drama in your life that your husband brought to you.
You're not broken and you can't fix your husband. So get on with your life and if you want to some day meet a nice man, make room for him in your life and in your heart.
