I miss him again...

I was feeling better, staying busy, working out, having fun with friends, the good stuff. a few days ago I came down with a bad cold so I've been forced to take it easy and have too much time to think. Now I really miss him again. Not who he is now but who he was. Who we were. I broke up with him two years ago and still regret it..I still love him. After two years! What was I thinking? Now I'm back to crying in the bathroom at work. I had made progress in the past two weeks. Eating well, sleeping well, taking care of my body and now I just want to curl up and give up again. I hate this. When does it get easier and not so hard. It takes soooo much work to feel betteR and all it takes is a couple days to go backwards again...

I understand your pain. I am in the same situation. I don't believe that I miss HIM as much as I miss the sense of security. I am deeling lost. It has hit me particularly hard as we are moving out of our marital home into our respective houses. It is hard to do things for myself when I have been dependent on someone else for so long. I am learning to make requests for help from friends where needed rather than to fumble around myself and cry over it.

The weird part is that I chose this path...

One day at a time. Sometimes you take two steps back and one forward others you take two forward and one back. Good days and bad days. Go back and read your previous posts. You've made progress! It just takes time and patience. Be patient with yourself. Gentle hugs.

exactly.. i completely understand how your feeling.. it comes in waves.. but I have learned over time, that really bad days.. usually get followed by much better days.. something about 'releasing the pressure'.. I feel like everythings going great, then BAM.. a trigger, and I'm back to square one it feels like.. but after letting all that heartache go.. I feel alot more like myself the next day.. like Sja said, it takes time and patience.. and I agree, looking back on previous posts really helps you visualize how far you've come!

It definitely comes in waves. I think it is helpful to think about how often those bad waves come (decreasing frequency) and how long they last when they come (decreasing duration). This helps you see that you are progressing.

Triggers can be anything. For me on Saturday it was seeing that my Ex and her new guy were together at "our" old romantic spot by the river. Many steps back and still struggling to recover, but like you, I've had good days and I know they will come again in time.

I am separated with my long term live in partner for only 44 days and believe me i feel like shit. She has Family Support. She has moved back to Mega City Mumbai. Life has come to a full stop for me. As all of my sharing and caring activities were with my partner. I am so lost now. My 1BHK apartment has truly become a grave yard. I can sleep either with sleeping pills or only by keeping the TV audio on a little loud. I am in the process of initiating her to return back home. We were both wrong in certain areas of our relationship. I want to give a 100% sincere try to repair and undo the damage done before its too late. Wish you lots of fellow human love and lots of good luck in finding a mate.
