I was in the outer banks of NC this weekend. Only had one descent day of weather. Then, on the second day, I developed a sore throat. Last night I had a nasty feaver and body aches. Woke up a few times in cold sweats and chilled. The feaver broke this morning but I still feel rough. I have a sore throat, body aches, a stuffy nose, a cough, and a bad headache. Sounds like the Flu to me. If this doesn't improve by tomorrow I am going to go to the Doctor, this sucks.

What sucks even more than loosing part of my vacation to this is that if I don't get better soon I may have to postpone my date for Saturday. That would really be bad! If I am not 100% tomorrow I am going right to the doctor and trying to get a Z pack to knock this damn thing out of my system quick. I don't mind feeling bad but it is a different story to miss a date with someone that I like.

Does this sound like the Flu to you guys?

I had the same thing and left work early today because of it, it is going around.

awww Heave. I'm so sorry. Being sick sucks.

May be the flu, but it's a little early in the season. There's a nasty change of season upper respiratory virus going around too. Sounds like you may have caught that. Stay warm, rest, drink LOTS of fluids.

How long did it last? I hope not long and that is the part that is really worrying me. I have been fighting this sore throat for a while and it really sucks, but the feaver and other things is really taking its told now!

You know what...I will admit that I can be a bit of a baby when I am sick. I am just miserable and I wish I had someone to cuddle up with. I think women are tougher when they are sick (if anyone hits me for saying that I am going to be really pissed because I already feel like crap).

I know my x was/is a huge baby when he's sick. I think that after we go through labor nothing else is really that bad.

Heave, I started getting the ick last tuesday night.

I was miserable thurs, fri, and most of saturday. I called my doctor right away for antibiotics though.

I feel MUCH better today, but it moved into my chest, so I still have a cough.

And I agree, women do better with being sick than men. I hide. I'm a horrible patient. It's easier just to suffer through it alone. I don't like anyone trying to baby me. *shrug*

Come on, try being in pain since June. Just a flu, you will be fine in no time.

Oh...I can deal with being hurt and being in pain. I have a very high thresh hold for pain. I set my own broken arm and I drove myself to the hospital with Kidney Stones. I just don't deal well with being sick.

Oh yeah...the day after I broke my arm I went off my pain medications because they made me feel wierd. I didn't take anything for the pain. The doctor kept on trying to prescribe other stuff but I wouldn't take it. He said that I was crazy. I told him that you should hurt for a while with a broken arm and it is normal. I lived with it and did just fine.

I think that was the scariest thing for me...meaning, getting sick on my own was so scary....now that I have been struggling with drs and my job since June in pain, well, taht made me look my fear in the eye...yessss, it is all mine...yesss....the goos and the bads...no one to annoy me, I don't mind it anymore. I like to conquer my fears. Always do that, but being sick was one I got to really deal with lately

I'm never lucky to get sick like that.. I'm always just fine to go to work.. Darn it!
