Sometimes with abuse i hate to comment even though i have been thru it and did not admit it. My ex definetely got abusive in the last 13 years, i no ,longer pleased him.
I thought he would move thru his troubles, things just got worse until they became
Toxic. I am still working on the fallout. HUGS
1. This forum and the validation I get here that he is abusive and I'm not imagining things.
2. A great therapist who specializes in domestic abuse victims. Found her on Psychology Today's website.
3. This book ... "Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men" by Lundy Bancroft. Reading it was like opening the door to my jail cell and freeing me. Gone was the guilt and shame I had about the abuse! I put a link to it on Amazon below where you can read reviews and a chapter for free, but you can get it anywhere. Your public library may have even have it or be able to get it for you.

The recovery is longer and harder, there are twists and turns of self doubt and confusion.
I still doubt my reality some days, i know what it got like and it was crazy making and insane. How did this all happen? Why? What did I do ? HUGS
