After two good years of marriage (out of the 23 years total) I have finally bailed on my soon to be ex. I've moved out of the house (even though I'll continue to pay for it and the expenses) for a little piece of mind. I have, gor the first time in my life, wecomed God into my heart, and have been attending church and bible study. I have gone through a spiritual revival, which has led to a musical revival. I am writing songs, not just music but poetry. I am playing music in public, at a local Christian bookstore that has welcomed me with open arms. And my body is healing as much as my spirit. I have eliminated to diabetic meds from my regime, and have cut my insulin need by 1/3. I am sleeping better than ever, and am more effective in my job even. I have even made several new friends, through the church and the bookstore, and have a full schedule every day. I have even gone to dinner with other women recently, not like serious dating, more like hey this is fun. I am not aroung the ex much as I do not wish to argue, and that is all she wishes to do. So I have the attorney, going to fill out the paperwork etc over the next couple of days (need to find the time) but feel really positive about the direction my life is heading.
Even my kids are happy. They are not young, I stayed in the marriage (or at least the house) for so long to be near them, but now that they are teens, they understand. And I am staying close so we see each other often.
For years I was so miserable, it was like, why did she turn her back on me, why can't I make this work, what did I do, blah blah, now I am happy. I am an OK guy, certainly not perfect, but also not the bad person she kept trying to convince me I was.
Do other people out there go through divorce happily, like me?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
