I ended a 4 year relationship

had a LD gf for 4 years and we had our ups and downs but as time went by things got worse and worese


I suggested a break... go our own ways for a while


see if time can help heal us enough to keep going but a relationship is like glass... can be beautiful but drop it and break it you can glue it back together but it will always have the cracks so its forever broke


I think we should permanently separate


I know the pain and emotional hell I put her through so knowing that its not ever gonna be the same as it was in the beginning Im gonna stop it


I dont wanna put her through anymore


before things get too ugly I want her to walk away with at least some good memories

You stated you didn't want to put her though it. Yet, you asked for the break. What are your true feelings? You aren't happy either I bet.

I think that loving someone means letting them go sometimes. If you know you aren't the best for her, than letting her go is the right thing.

I'm like you...well except she left..I could chase her. I could fight for her. But we have broken up a few times. No matter how painful, it's time to go our separate ways.

It will be hard for both of you in the beginning but remember you are doing the right thing.

Break up already, explain that the relationship has been problematic from the start, that things continue to get worse and you think it is best that you break up now before you both invest more time and effort into a relationship that is not going anywhere. Then say good bye and go no contact.

I feel for you. I have left my husband now 4 times but I'm not ever going back. It's hard to let go for good, but you know in your heart of hearts it won't get better. It's so painful but if you are truly thinking about her welfare and let her know it, you can walk away and find peace, knowing you did all you can do. I ask you to take care of yourself, don't be too hard on yourself at all! We all hurt people, it seems to be human nature, but forgiveness is the path to peace. Love and prayers to you and I'm here if you need to talk.

yes I know letting her go is the best thing to do... so Im gonna have a talk with her... I'll let you all know how it went
