Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Therapy didn't help me AT ALL. Although I am all for it and think it works wonders on most people.
The only thing that actually helped me was ME. I finally said to myself "I am done." and just like that I was done hating, I was done hurting, I was done wondering, I was done feeling sorry for myself, I was done with it all.... It took about 2 more months to finally be at a place where I could date again and to be ok 100% but it worked. I started exercising and I started taking control of my life back. It really was all due to a book I read (self help book) which made me realize I needed to take control of my life back.
She was not worth it... AND GUESS WHAT.... the new guy turned out to be an asshole and she just got pregnant by this guy. I just heard the news about 4 days ago. And as soon as I heard it all I could think was "That's Karma for you". It didn't hurt one bit to hear this news because I am already over her and I couldn't care less what she does with her life. She is just a memory to me like a million more in my life. A lesson learned and NO MORE.
You want to get better? It all starts with a "YES" but you have to mean it. If you decide that it is time to get better nothing will be able to stop you except yourself.
Take back your control and be the strong woman I know you can be. Look at yourself in the mirror and take back your control.
Friend me and read some of my other posts and see if you find some ideas on how to do it there. Yesterday and today I wrote a few things about this.
Honey you can do it. And if you need a friend along the way I AM HERE FOR YOU.
When I got overwhelmed on the early days, I would focus on one or two really important things. I would allow myself to have tunnel vision and just focus on those 2 things and I gave myself permission to let everything else slide until I got thru that grief cycle. For me, my kids were always one of the things. The other was usually a very clear work deliverable.
This gave me a way forward thru the grief. Once thru it, I'd widen my gaze again to other things. (Like a clean house... )
