So he kept asking for space and time for the last 2 months saying he needed time to know whether he wanted me or not but at the moment, he doesn't want to try with me or anyone else but if he did that it would be with me. I am trying to give him that space but it is really hard. My heart aches just thinking I won't be talking to him or the idea of him moving on possibly and being with another girl. I know he still loves me and he won't be able to move on any time soon.

How long do I give him before I go back and ask if he wants to try again or if he is ready to forgive me? We were engaged and we both broke up with each other for different reasons and we were just fed up after a build up of major events like moving away from each other, a major accident, a lot of communication through the phone only, etc. We broke up on the phone and I haven't seen him in 2 months now and we never got to sit down and talk about things and he doesn't want to meet up yet.

He replies back to my texts and answers my calls and we sometime even FaceTime. and sometimes it seems as if he enjoys all that but sometimes it feels like he hates me.

I want to try again. I know if I was less stubborn and didn't get so angry when things didn't go my way, we would be in a lot happier place. It is really hard to not talk to him every day like we used to. I miss seeing him and cooking together and going to the beach. This is really hard.

Yes it sounds like its really hard for you. He has asked for space and if I were you I would respect that, as difficult as it will be. Make some plans daily with friends etc so that you don't have so much time on your hands. Respecting his space will be beneficial for you both in the end.I know its hard, but you can do it.

I agree if you truly want a future together you have to give him space. Even if it hurts you now the rewards of having him back i say are worth it. If you keep talking to him now and something else goes wrong you may ruin it forever don't take that chance

He telling you that he needs space is meaningful. I suggest that you respect that You give him the space he is asking for. If there is a chance that the two of you will reunite, the boundary needs to be respected.

I'm sorry that you are hurting. It will feel better is you do not contact him.

While my situation is a bit different...I understand how you feel. Dying inside pretty much sums it up. I wish I had more to offer aside from that I inderstand. Hugs and hang in there.

I can relate on a couple levels to your situation. After a year in a rocky but in my opinion happy relationship He said he needed to be alone. That I wasnt "the one". I too, am very stubborn, which I know not only caused alot of fights but also dragged them out. I know after a split its easy to blame yourself and think back to every single thing you did wrong. But its not fair. I've gone complete no contact since the incident two weeks ago. (We even live together still, ive just slept on friends couches.) But that was for me, not him. Seeing him walking in and out to retrieve more clothes, just puts me right back to day one. It KILLS. So I give you credit for your strength in keeping in touch with him. But I too just imagine him settling with another woman and giving her everything I was hoping he would give me one day. Stay Strong love. Its cliche but if you set something free and it comes back, it was meant to be. If not , it never was.

Sorry you are going through this. I would give him the space he is asking for, do not contact him for any reason and also get yourself in therapy.

In your prior post you said "He ignores my calls and texts and says he wants nothing to do with me" and "He says he needs space but doesn't see us together." I think he has made his feeling quite clear. It is hard when we love and care for someone for doesn't love us back...but you can't control someone's feelings, nor would you want to.

Thank you guys. I am working on giving him space. I went to the beach today and i just remembered every time he would take me to the beach and get on the ferris wheel and just be a couple. It hurt a lot but i tried to be busy with my family. Every time i remember him.. my eyes tear up..
