Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.

After divorcing Mr. Wrong, I found what I needed.
He's an inch shorter than I am, he's a common laborer, but has an awesome body and personality. He's also very handy, takes care of my snow needs, and just basically takes care of things around my house, when he can.
He has embraced that I like wearing heels, so I'm much taller, and is now thinking it's sexy.
We both research things to keep our relationship fresh.
For some idiotic reason, my ex-husband never wanted to take me out, but my boyfriend loves taking me out.
We just click!
We have our arguments, but half the time we end up laughing after them, because they were so trivial. The other half, we say we'll discuss later, but never do.
OK ~ You're question ~ find someone you are just natural with. Do something goofy. Do something that you're not used to and see how he responds.
This man took me fishing last summer, in order to get to this private lake, we had to take the boat down a dam (where I smashed my finger), and then was reminded we would have to get up the dam when we were done. (Not a problem - people swimming there pulled us up)
Anyway, I hadn't been fishing since I was 10 yrs old (30 some yrs ago), but it ended up being such a wonderful day, seeing all the water lillies, just enjoying nature, and being on a boat together.
He had sandwiches, drinks, water and soda, and I know my ex, in that postition, would have wondered why I didn't plan ahead.
I knew before how much I loved him, but that day......was a great day.
He loves me with all my faults, my children, my ex, being taller, etc.
yendh ~ You just know when it's right!
I hope your find it.
If a red flag pops up when you're just getting to know a man, don't minimize or dismiss it. It's there to give you important information.
Don't settle for wasting time with a guy who you know isn't 'the one'. The real one might walk right by you and you'll never even have a shot with him or know that he was there.
I swear to God that it seems like love hits you when you're not even looking for it!!!
Just have this chapter of your book be about you and about how you are getting in touch with yourself!!! (((((Hugs)))))
When you trained him long enough LOL
Just kidding!
And yes, I have to agree - you just click. It took me a little while to get used to the idea that he is what I see, not too good to be true.
My bf and I have our differences and I wish certain things were different, but right away, almost from the first week, it felt like I've made a best friend. 7 months so far, we shall see what happens next. ;)
Good luck
@ julchr: You give me hope. Thank you.
I'm confused between 2 thoughts: 1) Mr Right really does exist and true love really does exist. 2) They exist but not to everyone and I may be of the part who won't find them.
But anyway, I'm happy to know that they really exist.
@ vanillabeane and CarlaBent:
I have the same problem like vanillabeane, but mine is rather vague. Half of the time, I still question whether my ex will be 'the one' one day again in the future, on the other hand I convince myself to the path that CarlaBent said: not settle for wasting my time.
Hm... I am currently seeing an Abercrombie & Fitch model with divorced parents, a baby out of wedlock, argues with me every day, and my Mom hates his guts. How does that work you may ask? I have learned not to judge people by their looks. Just because he looks like a spiky-haired prick doesn't mean that he is! I happen to love his daughter, sometimes I deserve to be argues with, nobody comes from a perfect family, and my Mom probably hates me as much as she hates him and for the same reasons.
I've learned instead of being prejudicial about a person, to step back and look at the relationship for what it is. I'm not saying I'm going to marry the guy or that he is "Mr. Right", but here are some good things that keep me happy about the relationship:
1. I don't get sick/bored of him
2. When we fight it's EVEN, meaning not one of us is ganging up on the other one. We seem to pick at each other equally
3. We have a healthy amount of sex
4. We trust each other more and more every day
5. We get along very well with one another's friends
6. We are always doing whatever we can to support/help the other one out in any way we can (so there is no selfishness)
Hope that helps :)
to find a man who will go the distance, look for a man who has a long history of honoring commitments to others. and, of course, to deserve such a man, a woman must have the same history.
I was making a joke. People are not animals, you can't "train them".
He was amazing, flowers and cards for no reason, sweet text messages during the day to say either "I love you" or "I miss you" or "thinking about you". We enjoyed so many of the same things, I fell in love with his 4 year old son, which he was thrilled that me and his son got along so well. We both hated being apart from each other, even though we knew it would happen from time to time.
What we do not know when we get into these relationships is that they still hang on to things from their past. Mine had unresolved feelings about an old g/f from 23 years ago...who could have possibly seen that coming! Not me.
New2this- you are right. It can be perfect, and still end, for whatever reason. I hope I meet someone next time who is as committed to the relationship as I am.
Funny thing....for me, he was the one who wanted the committed relationship. I was the one who wanted to take things slow. But we just hit it off so perfectly, things just moved right along! And then he was gone...so I guess he came into my life for a REASON rather than a season or a lifetime (loved that post).
