Many blessings your way and Welcome to the group
None of use knew this journey was going to take place or if we did know we had no idea where to start to begin a new life.
I suggest hanging out with old friends, making new ones, trying new hobbies, anything that you have always wanted to do. Do it and make it your divorce project! I gardening, reorganized my home, joined a gym, ran 5 K's and my list keeps on growing a year later.
you will figure it out my friend
Eventually you can start hanging out more with work people and go out of your way to see others, make yourself more visible. Stop by restaurants and shops where you know people, etc.
It has been my approach with some success even though I feel I have not done enough.
Good luck and sorry for what you're going through.
I was scared to death to attend my first Meetup group activity and found that it was the smartest, most fun thing I've done in years. It may be a great way for you to get out there and start being social again, whether your goals are for platonic or romantic relationships.
I then started to really look at what I myself enjoy doing, and what I would like to try doing and I am slowly working on making some of these things a reality. I am finding ways to do these things and how they will help me to meet new people and get me out of the house at times.
But I am also learning to enjoy some time on my own, and to be happy with my own company. Finding a peace and happiness in the quiet alone time too. Good luck with the adjustment, and give yourself time and understanding that this is a process and it will have its ups and downs.
I have found support and contact with friends on here invaluable. There is nowhere else that one can find quite the level of empathy that one finds from the amazing people on here.
But it's a little different for me. Mine said he didn't want to be married, there was no one else, pushed me out of the house and moved his hahem - girlfriend?- in. Just 2 days later! Yep. But there's more. Waited until I lost my job to do it.
I am bouncing from home to home. No job, no money. At my age, it is less then likely that I 'will' find a job.
I don' thave a clue what to do. But now that it's been 6 months I do know that I am ready to date.
And I can't wait. But will have to. haha, Like YOu, I don't know how to get out there. LOL
